I earned my undergraduate degree in marine biology from Florida International University. Upon graduation I worked in the field of marine biology for more than five years before transitioning to education. I now work as a high school science teacher where I am able to use my research and real world experience in lesson creation. I currently tutor several science related courses, including biology, environmental science, IB biology HL, AP biology, AP environmental science, life sciences, ecology, science, and marine biology. As an educator I know how vitally important it is for students to truly understand and comprehend the information they are receiving rather than simple rote memorization of testable facts. This is especially true in science where further advancement into the more complex theories requires a firm foundation in the basic principles. I truly love teaching. I know that a high quality education is the most powerful tool we can give ourselves. It helps us in our journey for academic, career, and personal advancement and it should never be limited to what one can learn in a classroom. While I will do my very best to teach students the subject matter relevant to their academic goals, I will also endeavor to inspire a thirst for knowledge that is ongoing.
